TTSbox

Responsible Voice Cloning Safety Policy

Core principle

TTSbox is built for authorized voice testing, research, private drafts, and responsible audio creation. We believe in empowering developers and creators with robust local AI tools while strictly enforcing ethical boundaries against deceptive media.

Allowed uses

We encourage users to leverage TTSbox for constructive and legal purposes:

Prohibited uses

The following activities are strictly prohibited when using our tools:

Data handling

In local mode, TTSbox does not upload your voice sample or generated audio to a TTSbox server. By keeping inference local via WebGPU, we minimize centralized data exposure. However, users are fully responsible for the data they download to their local machines. TTSbox cannot independently verify whether every uploaded voice sample belongs to the user or was provided with valid consent. Users are responsible for ensuring they have the legal and ethical right to use any voice sample before generating audio.

Commercial use

Only use generated audio commercially if you own the voice, have explicit permission, or use properly licensed synthetic/sample voices. Users are entirely responsible for rights clearance and compliance with regional laws.

Abuse reporting

If you discover audio generated using TTSbox that violates these policies, infringes on copyrights, or engages in non-consensual cloning, please report it immediately: abuse@ttsbox.xyz

Limitations

TTSbox is a browser AI audio experiment. Because models execute locally in the user's browser cache, TTSbox does not possess a centralized server mechanism to preemptively block or moderate offline user generations.

Not legal advice

This policy provides ethical guardrails for the use of TTSbox but does not constitute legal advice. Users must consult legal professionals regarding the copyright and media generation laws applicable in their jurisdiction.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is responsible voice cloning?
Responsible voice cloning involves using AI technology ethically, focusing on authorized use cases like private testing, accessibility, or prototyping, while avoiding deceptive media, impersonation, or copyright infringement.
Can I clone anyone's voice?
No. You may only clone voices you own, synthetic voices, or voices for which you have explicit, documented consent from the original speaker.
Does TTSbox upload my data?
In local mode, TTSbox does not upload your voice sample or generated audio to a TTSbox server. Execution and storage happen locally on your hardware.
What should I do if I suspect abuse?
If you encounter instances of non-consensual voice cloning or illegal impersonation utilizing our tools, please immediately contact our abuse team at abuse@ttsbox.xyz.
Is voice cloning fraud legal?
No. Using voice cloning for fraud, phishing, scams, or bypassing security biometrics is illegal. Users bear full responsibility for the audio they generate.
Can I use generated audio for commercial projects?
Commercial use is only permitted if you have cleared the rights to the underlying voice sample. Users are entirely responsible for rights clearance, compliance, and any licensing terms that apply to voices, samples, generated audio, or third-party assets used in their workflow.
What happens if I violate the safety policy?
While TTSbox operates locally without a centralized server, utilizing the tool for prohibited uses like harassment or impersonation violates our terms and may carry legal liability.
Is TTSbox responsible for user-generated content?
No. TTSbox provides experimental local-first tools. Because processing happens offline on the user's browser, TTSbox does not moderate, store, or endorse user-generated content.
